On June 9, Planingo and Anaplan hosted their third annual executive roundtable in Almaty, Kazakhstan, bringing together leaders from some of Central Asia’s leading companies. The discussion «Decisions Under Pressure: How to Keep Up with Change?» welcomed 16 participants, including CFOs and Heads of Planning from major organizations across the region.
As businesses navigate market volatility, supply chain disruptions, economic uncertainty, and rapid technological change, the ability to adapt strategies and transform planning processes has become a critical competitive advantage. Against this backdrop, the discussion focused on the growing role of artificial intelligence in planning transformation.
Participants explored how technology is reshaping decision-making. According to Gartner, organizations are transitioning from automation-driven business models to autonomy-driven ones, where decisions are increasingly made through collaboration between humans and intelligent systems. While routine decisions can be delegated to machines, human expertise remains essential for navigating complex and strategic scenarios.
The discussion also highlighted the shift in focus from traditional IT infrastructure to the decision stack — an emerging approach to designing and managing decision-making systems where people and AI work together. At the core of this model are high-quality, accessible data for AI agents, along with institutional knowledge and business expertise, which are increasingly recognized as strategic assets.
Among the practical topics discussed were:
The closed roundtable format encouraged open dialogue and practical knowledge sharing, allowing participants to exchange experiences, discuss common challenges, and explore approaches already being implemented by leading companies across Central Asia.
Planingo sincerely thanks all participants for their trust, openness, and willingness to share their insights. It is through conversations like these that a strong professional community is built, one that is ready to shape new approaches to planning and decision-making in an increasingly dynamic business environment.
