Al Dahra transforms supply chain planning into a transparent and collaborative process

With Anaplan, we’ve transitioned from fragmented, Excel-based planning to a single platform that delivers real-time visibility of demand and supply, and drives forecast accuracy across our regions. One of the biggest breakthroughs is our ability to instantly evaluate multiple planning scenarios — something we couldn’t do before. Automation and end-to-end integration have fundamentally changed the way we plan — enabling greater agility, transparency, and data-driven decision-making.

Business Challenge

Al Dahra is one of the global leaders in agribusiness, operating across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, and the Americas. The company manages a diverse portfolio — from grains and animal feed to essential food staples like rice, flour, fruits, and vegetables. With over 3,100 employees in 13 countries Al Dahra serves 45 markets and is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

As operations expanded, Al Dahra’s supply chain planning grew increasingly complex. Legacy, Excel-based tools limited visibility, delayed decision-making, and made it difficult to align planning processes across multiple regions. The organization needed a single, agile planning solution to support rapid responses to market shifts, streamline operations, and empower data-driven decisions at various levels.

Solution

Anaplan platform redefined Al Dahra’s end-to-end supply chain planning. Key components of the project included:

  • Data Hub:
Automated data integration from ERP systems (Sage, SAP S/4HANA) ensures consistent and up-to-date data is available every day. Master data alignment established a unified structure across products and geographies, while Anaplan’s built-in validation tools surfaced inconsistencies to drive continuous data quality improvements.
  • Supply Planning Model:
Provided full visibility into on-hand inventory and supply-demand alignment. Planning experts can now analyze shortages, storage capacity, and supply constraints across five different planning scenarios through intuitive dashboards and real-time analytics.
  • Demand Planning Application:
Enabled bottom-up forecasting using historical data, sales inputs, and shipment timelines (ETA/ETD). Advanced capabilities such as price management, demand forecast archiving, waterfall analysis, and forecast accuracy tracking support both product- and customer-level planning.
